Taking personal responsibility for everything in our current times – times that are such that government, law enforcement, bureaucratic agencies, NGOs, schools, corporations, the “press,” and a majority of religious institutions are all instruments of revolution bent on the destruction of society, and you, specifically, the counter-revolutionary – means, literally, taking responsibility for every-single-thing.
It is time – time to begin taking responsibility for procuring food and potable water, portable shelter, and unpowered modes of transportation suitable to all seasons for all members of your household. You must take responsibility for the security of your household, neighborhood, and community, and in doing so must take it upon yourself a reformation of self-governance among those near who would build anew: institutions parallel to those captured, and against us.
This is not rambling warnings against impending nuclear attack or another Carrington Event, nor of a zombie apocalypse – this isn’t science fiction at all, and it’s not particularly controversial analysis. You have seen the condition of the shelves at your local grocers, and you have felt the troubling relief in the small of your back that comes with the thinner wallet.
You should be aware of the situation that is developing around energy: petroleum and gas prices are through the roof, and shortages are already here. There’s little reason to believe that our incompetent, or, perhaps, malicious “expert” class will resolve these issues in ways that avoid periods without reliable gas and oil delivery this winter. Rolling blackouts or brownouts are possible as nuclear generation continues to be retired, and demand surge for oil products to burn for electricity competes with winter demand from private households.
Whether you run municipal water or a private well it would be wise to have a method of filtration, or alternate source available. There is little reason to believe the ideologues will not reward their faithful know-nothings with positions in these government fields that will result in cascading minor catastrophes in public systems of all sorts. We also are now aware of a serious of foreign (probably) government sponsored cyber attacks on drinking water infrastructure, and poisoning attempts in recent times. As systems of all types undergo slow collapse it must also be expected that an increase in pollution will impact ecosystems, and both public, and private water systems at times.
The catastrophe around fertilizer production portends shortages for planting seasons ahead that will translate to food scarcity, and drive prices higher independent of rampant inflation, and as financial conditions continue to deteriorate it will become more difficult to sustain local law enforcement (assuming you still have an agency worth its salt), and harder still to keep those on the job flying straight in the prevailing crooked winds.
In short order we will also likely see the emergence of large-scale black markets as government mandates, prohibitions, and arbitrary regulations force more commerce underground. It is also very possible that the introduction of federal digital currency could see mass restrictions on purchasing authority removed from those deemed enemies of the revolutionary state. For this reason it would not be unwise to acquaint yourself with the modestly seedy, and those with good-ol’-boy knowhow.
If you’re not sure where to start with all of this let me suggest this: exercise. You simply cannot undertake any serious measure of personal responsibility, wield any serious degree of will against those opposing you, nor be of much use to anyone if you cannot walk a mile, lift yourself over a barrier, or declare at least even odds against a random, unarmed opponent.
The nature of things is such that the minimum actions necessary to win our fight is a moving target – each new day pushes the necessary actions farther into “radical” territory. It is the unfortunate fact that all of this could have been avoided if we simply stood up at the beginning of the pandemic – if we had the gumption to tell the government “no” even when we genuinely thought four in a hundred may die. We now find that resistance is considerably more dangerous and will be personally painful. Should we fail again now the future will demand nothing short of the lives of those we love to overcome this beast. As the saying goes the best time was (and always is) yesterday. The second-best time is now. Console yourself that you have no choice. You’ve none more than those before you who have been subject to colonization.
This land of ours becomes a land of wolves. Find your fangs. Form your pack. Build your den. Claim your territory. Whatever you do, don’t look like a meal.
