I’ll admit that it’s an awfully sexy headline for a proposed piece of legislation, but this one has the ability to truly do some damage to the evil being perpetrated by The Regime against children.
Currently, there is a revolving door between big education corporations, lawmakers, teachers unions, and various NGO’s that allows them to push far-left indoctrination in schools, they then administer surveys carefully designed to achieve a specific result - namely a result that justifies more of their indoctrination. This has the effect of steering large-dollar contracts to the big education corporations to keep expanding the harmful indoctrination.
This bill would break that cycle.
Bill outline for education standards across all public, government run K-12 education.
Purpose:
Currently, the term “evidence-based” is either poorly defined or undefined in both law and educational practice. The scientific method relies on the concept of falsifiability and testing of theorems in properly designed experimentation to test truth claims. The paramount metric and standard for evaluation of theorems is resistance to falsification by achieving repeatedly consistent results over multiple experiments. While peer review of studies has uses, including evaluating the proper design of studies, peer review alone has no weight in evaluating or falsifying truth claims. A rigorously scientific approach to education will give substantial weight to repeatability of studies confirming theorems of educational praxis while affording relatively little weight to peer review alone. “Evidence-based” shall therefore be defined in such manner.
Outline:
· This bill may be known as the “Science in Education Act.”
· To establish professional and legitimate standards for evaluation of methods and techniques of education (pedagogy).
· To require methods and techniques of education (pedagogy) adopted by New Hampshire public schools to be “evidence-based.”
· To define “evidenced-based” to be of sufficient scientific legitimacy by achieving at least one of the following:
o Reproducibility in multiple, well-designed studies within a single discipline.
o Independent confirmation by well-designed studies across multiple disciplines such as but not limited to:
§ Education, sociology, or psychology.
o Shall be without regard to “peer review” status.
· To specifically exclude from the definition of “evidence-based” the following:
o Surveys and other self-reported data sets.
o Non-objective measurements such as subjective reports of student progress and learning.
· To require that all NH government references to “evidence-based” within the context of education conform to such definition.
· To require that all vendors of curriculum materials and educational programs publicly post the studies, or links to the studies (freely available), that demonstrate any associated or recommended educational methods or techniques be in conformity to the definition of “evidence-based” as defined herein.
Scope:
· Broadly, to apply to all government operated (local or state) public schools within NH.
· To apply only to pedagogical methods (methods and techniques of education), not to curriculum itself or content of courses.
· To apply to rules promulgated by the NH Department of Education, all pedagogical methods coincident to curriculum adopted, but not to apply to, nor be enforced at, the level of the individual classroom or educator.
· Requirements around government use of the term “evidence-based” to conform to definition herein to apply to the entire executive branch and all public schools up to but not including post-secondary schools (e.g. a government employee may not in an official capacity utilize the term “evidence-based” under a circumstance wherein a public university utilizes the same term where that university is using the term in a manner which does not conform to this definition herein).
Definition of "well-defined studies"
Thanks for your work, I think if we have enough people running for local office.
@thequartering had a discussion with Mark Dice, about how these elections are low hanging fruit- the word is getting out to those farther away from politics, people locally need to meet in community groups to build ground level campaigns.
I'm afraid I have no idea, but your contributions are appreciated.
Does the bill have a number yet? Has this legislation been proposed? If so, by whom?
