The Scope of my Project is Wide
Dear readers, I write today to introduce you to another line of effort I have been undertaking for some time, but have kept separate from this Substack for various reasons. I believe now the time is right for some intermingling.
In todays world it is quite nearly impossible to know - with a high degree of certainty of the correctness - the truth of things. The information environment is more polluted than the Potomac. It takes considerable discernment to conclude with high efficacy what is true, and what is false. Considerable discernment in these times means the processing of truly massive amounts of information - you need troves of data to form these impressions.
Some time ago I took on the task of attempting to process as much information as possible on an ongoing basis that I might attempt to discern what is true. To this end I established information feeds, contacts, and a great number of sources ranging from reasonably reliable to near rock solid from which to pull information for analysis.
If you’ve ever asked yourself why I don’t have the sort of viewpoint most people seem to have it is, at least in part, because I don’t consume the same information they do. I don’t watch television, nor the news. I don’t read much in the way of “reporting” from any major news outlets. I do my best to bypass them entirely, and I regard them as the enemy.
With this information I compile reports as to what I believe represents, with variable, but stated likelihood, the truth of things.
